Strawberries in Suburbia

South Windsor Berry Fest has been advertised for weeks, toting all kinds of strawberry concoctions and a craft fair to boot.  Given all the hype, I was anticipating a carnival something along the lines of the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival in Louisiana, with everything from strawberry pie to strawberry fritters (and of course the daiquiris!).  Our house just happens to be in the same neighborhood as this fest, so we took a break from scraping wallpaper paster to walk over.  And if any of you know how OCD I can get about the home improvement projects, this is huge that I would put the scraper down for an hour.  Well, the fest was disappointing to say the least.  The only thing strawberry was a mediocre strawberry shortcake.  I have not consulted Webster's, but I am pretty sure you have to have more than one item to call an event a "fest".

Needless to say, it was back to the wall
scraping in short order.  And who had to help with the wallpaper?  Tyler, of course!

Tyler was clearly not getting enough attention from his mommy, who was knee deep in wallpaper, so his Uncle Steven came over to play.
Uncle Steven had spent the day in Rockport with Aunt Amanda...apparently there is more to Rockport than just shoes...who knew???  Anyways, Uncle Steven brought the most ADORABLE cookies all the way back for Tyler and Charlie...

Thank you Uncle Steven!!!

Rain Rain Go Away

These rainy days make me want to stay in bed all day. Apparently, I am not the only one...
